unable find compliant disk

unable to find a compliant disk ....

Vista wont continue installation on a 40gb drive master on primary IDE slot had some problems to create the primary partition (had to diskpart to create it ) Now it says : unable to find a compliant disk .... the system is a MSI-7191 (ati xpress chipset) i dont understand why it sees and format the disk and refuses to continue installation
As
usual MS is making things EASIER .... Never seen that yet on any OS

Did you format it as ntfs ?

diskpart formatted it as NTFS, no other choice.

yes NTFS as default in the Vista diskpart.
